East Bay Manufacturers Sweep the AMBayArea Mfg Awards

The 5th annual Association of Manufacturers Bay Area (AMBayArea) Summit featured the inaugural Bay Area Mfg Awards, which recognized local manufacturers for their accomplishments, ingenuity, and advancements in the industry. Please join us in congratulating Small Manufacturer of the Year, DOER Marine (Alameda), Medium Manufacturer of the Year, Emerald Packaging (Union City), and Large Manufacturer of the Year, Penumbra (Alameda). Casa Sanchez Foods (Hayward) was recognized as AMBayArea Member of the Year. Watch the MFG Awards Video.

Funding Opportunities


GoGreen Financing Program – Ditch old equipment. Upgrade to new appliances and use up to 30% of funds for bonus improvements. The State of California’s GoGreen Business Energy Financing offers affordable, flexible options to help California businesses and nonprofits reduce their energy bills and shrink their carbon footprints. Learn more.

Pollution Prevention Grants – The EPA announced a funding opportunity for pollution prevention grants, with half of available funds requiring no cost share or match requirement for projects that manage waste and avert or remove emissions and harmful chemicals from the environment. Applications are due May 17.

Emissions Reduction – The Bay Area Air Quality District’s Carl Moyer Program is offering incentive grants to eligible businesses that are seeking upgrades or replacement of off-road equipment. Applications are accepted on a first-come, first-served basis. Email Itsel Guzman, Staff Specialist, iguzman@baaqmd.gov for a preliminary analysis on eligibility.
