East Bay Manufacturers Driving Economic Strategy

Torani's Flavor Factory in San Leandro, CA.

In the face of continued changes on a national level, California is pushing ahead with investing in an economic development strategy that puts its driving industries at the head of the table. These investments are making their way to the East Bay, and manufacturing is one of the key industry sectors.

Manufacturing businesses know best what they need to thrive and expand. That’s why the State of California wants industry to drive strategies to strengthen and grow the manufacturing sector. If the Bay Area can enhance our competitive advantage and attract more businesses, we can take advantage of our highly educated workforce while broadening opportunities and creating jobs.

The Bay Area will be tapping into some of the state’s earliest local investments to seek input and engagement from manufacturing businesses. Our region’s diverse array of manufacturing companies are perennial leaders in innovation; to retain this competitive advantage while facing great uncertainty, we must bring the Bay Area’s manufacturing industry together in partnership with our business, community, and government leaders to build on our strengths.

Over the next 18 months, our network will be looking for input and engagement from manufacturing businesses, economic development departments, and other key stakeholders about what you think the Bay Area needs most to help the manufacturing sector grow, spread prosperity, and strengthen our communities. Whether it is physical space, infrastructure, access to capital, access to talent, or better support from state and local governments, your insights will help shape a forward-looking strategy that reflects the real needs of manufacturers and ensures the Bay Area remains a thriving hub for industry and innovation.
